Is Alison just an ugly wankstain or just and ugly twat? You decide. She certainly hasn’t gopt as clue about UK TV. And Boy is she UGLY.

One thing I admire and has always attracted me to the TV listing magazine Radio Times is it’s factual, non-biased opinion about what it presents – be that on TV, radio or online. However one person who seems opposed to this trend is the reviewer Alison Twatbag, er I mean Graham. Judging by her comments, she watches a hell of lot of TV, but is there anything she actually likes or is her job just to piss people off? If there is, I’d be interested to know what she considers good TV (or radio etc) because her outpourings over the past few years have pilloried many programs (hi and lobrow).

I don’t see the point of her column in The Radio Times as before I read it, I know it’s going to be negative, so just what is her function? Is she there to generate fodder for Points Of Vioew (if it still exists ?) She isn’t high profile (not with face to frighten animals), she isn’t a celeb, she isn’t much apart from a thorn in the side of anyonme who reads (and skips) her negative rant.

As Swap Shop, and all the other programmes came from TV Centre in central London surely they should have had an 071, and later an 0171 number when they switched over?

Or did they, as I’d like to hope, get the 081 number specially so it scanned nicely…

I also notice that the new number for TV Centre has switched over the extremely new ‘03′ prefix (0370 901 1227 – if anyone’s interested), which just doesn’t seem right at all.

What can I say? The new site certainly looks swanky with plenty of bells and whistles, but isn’t it almost against the ethos of TV Cream to have such gimmickry on display?

I always found the black background and yellow text bold yet unfussy in a mid-80s BBC2 closing credit sequence kind of way. It looked like something knocked up on a ZX Spectrum – substance over style, if you like.

All this said, as long as the Assignments, Look-in and Extras find their way onto the new site and don’t become lost in a Byzantine web of submenus, I’m willing to give it a go. In fact, find me a video of the Make Room For the Mushrooms advert and we’ll call it quits.

Thanks Chris. As for the official launch, as Frank Bough would say, the situation is…a developing situation. The whole A-Z will be there by the end of the month. Other features will probably take a bit longer; there’s some new stuff coming as well. A safe bet to say is…the summer.

Of course, 811 8055 wasn’t Swap Shop’s original number – in its first series (or two?) it was 288 8055 IIRC…
